Meowsers
The short version: no ads, no accounts, nothing that identifies you. Anonymous play statistics only. Now scoop.

And if you buy the unlock, APPLE handles the money! We never even SEE it! Isn't that GREAT?
Who we are
The Pooper Scoopers ("the app") is made by John Leary ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. It applies to the iOS app and to this website.
What we collect
Anonymous usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). When you play, the app automatically reports events such as app launches, screens viewed, mini-games played, and purchases completed. These events are tied to a random app instance ID: an identifier created for your copy of the app. It is not connected to your identity, your Apple ID, or any advertising identifier. Google derives an approximate region (country or city level) from a masked version of your IP address; the full IP address is not stored. We use this data to understand which parts of the game work and to fix problems.
Purchase state. If you buy the "Unlock Everything" purchase, Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details. The app stores an on-device record that the purchase was made so your unlock persists.
Game progress. Days completed, credits, and cosmetics are saved on your device (and in your device backups). Progress is not uploaded to us.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers (IDFA). The app never asks to track you, so iOS never shows you a tracking prompt for it.
- No selling of data, and no sharing beyond the Google Analytics processing described above.
- No accounts and no sign-in. We collect no names, emails, or contacts through the app.
- No precise location, microphone, camera, photo, or health data. The app doesn't ask for those permissions because it doesn't use them.
Children
The Pooper Scoopers is a family-friendly game. It is not directed specifically at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from any player. Purchases go through the standard iOS purchase confirmation, and parental controls such as Ask to Buy and Screen Time purchase restrictions apply as configured on the device.
Retention and your choices
Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for Firebase under its standard retention settings and is not personally identifiable to us. Because the analytics identifier is random and app-scoped, you can reset it at any time by deleting and reinstalling the app. Deleting the app also deletes your local save data.
If you have a privacy question or request, email us (address below) and we'll do what we can, though in most cases there is simply no personal data on our side to act on.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC): anonymous usage analytics. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
- Apple App Store / StoreKit (Apple Inc.): payment processing for the in-app purchase. See Apple's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date revised before that change ships. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
